HOME TOWN’s Ben and Erin Napier To Star in Scripted Holiday Movie at Discovery+

By Movieguide® Staff

This year, celebrate the holiday season with the Napiers as they make their Christmas movie debut on Discovery+!

After last year’s success, CANDY COATED CHRISTMAS, starring Food Network star Ree Drummond, Discovery+ announced four new Christmas movies—two from Food Network and two from HGTV.

HOME TOWN star Ben and Erin Napier will make a cameo with other TV stars like Hilary Farr, Bobby Flay, and Duff Goldman.

The four movies include ONE DELICIOUS CHRISTMAS, A GINGERBREAD CHRISTMAS, A CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE, and DESIGNING CHRISTMAS.

All four holiday movies will be available on Discovery+ on Nov. 11.

Erin Napier announced on her Instagram: “So, we are in a movie! Coming November 11 to @discoveryplus — ‘A Christmas Open House'”

“The holidays are huge for HGTV and Food Network, which together attracted 90 million seasonal viewers last year,” Warner BrosDiscovery chairman and chief content officer Kathleen Finch told Variety. “So we expanded our offerings and produced four scripted holiday features for Discovery+, each showcasing some of the biggest personalities on Food Network and HGTV. We will promote them to approximately 35% of the available cable audience by running spots on HGTV, Food and the rest of the WBD portfolio of 25+ cable networks, exposing our great talent to even more potential fans.”

“Food Network and HGTV both feature talent who are adored by their fans, and home and food are two things everyone thinks about when planning Christmas celebrations,” she added. “Ree’s Food Network fans flocked to Discovery+ to see her in her first movie, so we knew we should include more of our top lifestyle talent. After Ree’s success, it was clear to us that HGTV would be a perfect brand fit for scripted holiday stories.”

“Ben and Erin Napier told us how much they love Christmas and Christmas movies, and how excited they would be to participate, so we developed an opportunity for them,” Finch said of the renovation duo.
