How This Former NCIS Star Proclaims Gospel Forgiveness

By Movieguide® Contributor

When actor Lucas Black isn’t on camera, he’s focused on his family, faith and sharing the gospel with fans through his 77x brand.

“It’s based off the scripture Matthew 18:22 [when] Peter comes and asks Jesus, how many times should I forgive? Seven times? Jesus says, not seven times, but 77 times. We should be continuously forgiving,” Black explained on his website. “We don’t want to harbor bitterness in our heart. That’s how we are held in bondage. We’ve received forgiveness from Christ and so we are. It’s our requirement for Christians, as God’s holy people.”

“We have to brand our hearts with forgiveness in order to live free,” the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS actor continued. “77x is a conversation starter for you to spread the gospel. If someone says, hey, what’s 77x mean? That’s your opportunity to talk about how Jesus forgave us on the cross and you get to talk about the gospel and spread God’s love.”

Each person who purchases a shirt or piece of merchandise from 77x becomes a team member, and a percentage of the purchase goes towards raising money for nonprofit organizations.

On Instagram, Black updated the team about the impact the brand has made on the world.

“Thank you team 77x. We are all about spreading the good news of Jesus and sharing your testimony,” Black wrote. “Also, we are excited to give the Gathering Place $6,000. It’s a ministry that is pointing the next generation to Jesus. Team 77x has given away $16,000 this year and that is all because of all of you.”

“I want to personally thank you,” he added. “Let’s keep being bold about our faith, professing the name of Jesus to others, branding forgiveness on our hearts, and bringing masculinity back. Hope y’all are celebrating Jesus this Christmas!”

Black hasn’t totally left acting behind. Most recently, he appeared in UNSUNG HERO, a movie that shared the story of for KING + COUNTRY’s Smallbone family. Black played Jed Albright.

“These are the kind of stories I think people are hungry for. This movie promotes faith, marriage, and family!” he said of the movie on Instagram. “Forgiveness, reconciliation, redemption are elements of this story that will encourage and uplift. It is a story that the whole family can see and walk away feeling good.”
