Jeremy Renner Returns to Set for First Time Since Snow Plow Accident: ‘Nervous’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Marvel star Jeremy Renner is returning to acting a little over a year after his snow plow accident.

“Day one on set…nervous today,” he posted on Instagram. “Hope this works out that I can ACTUALLY pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans @mayorofkingstown@paramountplus”

Renner’s return to the MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN set marks his first time back acting after the accident that left him with over 30 broken bones and multiple surgeries.

Movieguide® reported:

Renner was injured on January 1 while clearing snowfall from his Nevada property. After exiting from his snowplow, the vehicle began to slide, heading straight for his adult nephew. In an effort to slow down or stop the snowplow, Renner attempted to step on the track but was pulled under the vehicle instead and was fully run over.

Many fans and followers offered encouragement to the actor.

“After the past year, I think you’ve proved you are capable of the almost impossible,” one follower wrote.

Fellow MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN castmate Nichole Galicia wrote, “You’ve got this Jeremy and we all have your back, front and both sides.”

Upon returning to work, Renner told CNN, “It’s been a really wonderful, wonderfully busy year, and I think I’m ready. I think I’m strong enough. We’ll see. I mean, I literally go back in a week. But I’ll be doing my best, trying my hardest.”

Ultimately, he is blessed and grateful to be alive.

“We have a lot to celebrate this year and kind of recorrect what happened last year, and I really feel pretty blessed by it,” Renner expressed. “I’m just so blessed that I had so many things to live for. You know, I have a giant family. I have a 10-year-old daughter. I would have disappointed and and really messed up a lot of people’s lives if I would have passed. And so there’s a lot for me to get better for.”

His show, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, “follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.”

Renner’s number one reason for recovery was his daughter. Movieguide® wrote:

A year after his near-fatal snowplow accident, AVENGERS star Jeremy Renner is sharing that his daughter was his number one reason for his recovery.

“Reason number One for my recovery is her,” Renner wrote on his social media on Monday. “I asked her to ‘wait for me’ when I first saw her January 14 as I arrived home. As I got better, she got better, less afraid. There is simply no better motivator to recover than to heal your family and friends….With gratitude always, thank you all for your love and support this last full year. I needed every ounce of goodwill and prayer ??.”
