Many public figures have been open about their decision to wait until marriage before having sex.
“Sometimes people have sex because they don’t feel good enough. Because they lack self-worth,” pop star Justin Bieber explained. “Women do that, and guys do that.”
He shared that he waited until his 2018 marriage to Hailey Baldwin, adding that he “wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way.”
“Because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul,” Bieber said. “And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.”

Justin Bieber said that he wished he would’ve saved himself for marriage.
“If I could go back and not have to face some of the bad hurt that I went through… yeah, I probably would’ve saved myself for marriage,” said Bieber on Facebook live.
“I don’t think it’s too much information, I think it’s helpful,” Bieber added.
Bieber made similar comments to VOUS Church Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr., “I think when I got really serious about [my wife] Hailey is when I stopped having sex.”
Singer Jessica Simpson has also spoken about her decision to wait to have sex until her marriage to first husband Nick Lachey.
Simpson, who wore a purity ring from the age of 12, explained that she was nervous about telling Lachey about her commitment to purity but praised him for staying “patient” until they wed in 2002.
“My virginity is something I stand strong in,” she told PEOPLE in 2000, with Lachey adding, “It’s not always easy. But I do respect it.”
Former football star Tim Tebow also discussed his commitment in 2016, explaining, “I can’t wait, but I think it’s something that I’ll have to trust God for. He’ll bring someone along at the right time.”
