Gracie Hunt, daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, asked on Instagram if Christians believe Halloween is a holiday to celebrate, or something people of faith should be wary of.
“Curious what everyone’s perspective on Halloween is 👀,” Hunt wrote on her Instagram story. “Christian and non-Christian friends – I’d love to hear your thoughts.”
The responses to Hunt’s question were largely varied as many chimed in to share their thoughts. Some believed Halloween is a harmless, fun celebration that Christians should allow their kids to engage with, while others believe it is demonic and is to be avoided.

The question of whether Christians should celebrate Halloween or not has become a hot debate in recent years, especially as people who have formerly been involved in the occult and are now Christian share what the day signified during their former lives.
“[The pagans] believed that during this time… the veil that separated the people who were alive and the people who had already died…that the veil, it got so thin that the dead could now cross over,” former witch Jenny Weaver warned in 2023. “These are witchcraft practices. These are doctrines of demons; they were fed to people by evil spirits, and they pulled people away from serving the one true God.”
“[These practices] highlighted gloom, they highlighted death, they highlighted necromancy, speaking with the dead, all of these things,” she continued, noting, “when you’re putting your kid in a costume, you may not realize it…[but] regardless of your heart’s intention, you are partnering with exactly what the origins of the holiday are.”
Furthermore, many people still practice rituals related to the holiday’s roots and October 31 is the day of the year that the most human sacrifices take place across the world.
“The truth about Halloween — Halloween is the highest day on the Satanic calendar. It is also the night of the year where there is the most human sacrifice on the whole planet,” a former satanic church leader explained. “So, if we look at it in a — let’s call it the popular culture aspect first. So many people think Halloween is about candy and it’s about dress-up, but they don’t question the meaning behind it.”
Thus, Christians should seriously consider why they are celebrating the holiday, and ensure that their heart is in the right place, regardless of if they choose to partake in the holiday or not. Parents should heed the warning of those who know the dark roots of the day and protect themselves and their children from opening any doors to demonic influence.
