NFL Team Gets Into Christmas Spirit with Claymation Short

The Kansas City Chiefs are continuing their epic celebration of Christmas with the release of a claymation short set to air on Christmas Eve.
“In A KINGDOM CHRISTMAS STORY: HAIL MERRY, claymation versions of Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid, QB Patrick Mahomes, TE Travis Kelce, DT Chris Jones, RB Isiah Pacheco, DE Geoge Karlaftis, and CB Trent McDuffie — along with the delightfully unexpected bounce of a football — save Christmas by bringing a busy family together around a Chiefs game, empowering all to believe in their dreams and the magic of the season,” a synopsis of the short reads.
“Christmas is such a magical time, and our team was looking for ways to deliver something special for all of Chiefs Kingdom before our Christmas Day game streaming worldwide on Netflix,” added Lara Krug, chief media and marketing officer for the Kansas City Chiefs. “The claymation style elicits a nostalgic feeling, and we think many people will be able to relate to some of the family scenes that are featured in the short. We are all very proud of this original program and look forward to our fans being able to enjoy a memorable Chiefs story on Christmas Eve.”
The creation of this claymation short is part of a larger initiative by the Chiefs to celebrate the Christmas season. The organization has transformed its stadium into an immersive holiday pop-up bar every Thursday through Sunday since Nov. 30, offering food, drinks and festive photo opportunities to all who attend.
The Chiefs have also collaborated with Hallmark to film a holiday movie centered around a Chiefs megafan.

“As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences,” added Chiefs president, Mark Donovan. “This partnership unites two passionate fan bases and gives us an opportunity to show Chief’s Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”
A KINGDOM CHRISTMAS STORY: HAIL MERRY will release on the team’s social media platforms on Dec. 24.
