Kel Mitchell Praises God ‘For His Goodness’ After Health Scare
By Movieguide® Contributor
Former Nickelodeon star Kel Mitchell thanks God and his fans for their support following a health scare earlier this month.
“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surround me during a genuinely frightening time. The scare was real, but so was the support,” Mitchell wrote on Instagram.
“With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you,” he continued.
Mitchell was admitted to the hospital on November 7 for an unknown reason, per TMZ. He was described as being “conscious and alert” when he arrived.
“Praise God for His goodness,” he added in the caption. “I’m going down a healing journey right now too. So I’ll add your recovery and care team to my prayers as well. Let God be glorified.”
The health scare comes a few weeks before Mitchell will reprise his famous role as Ed in GOOD BURGER 2, the sequel to the ’90s classic. Mitchell and Kenan Thompson return to their jobs at Good Burger on Nov. 22, streaming exclusively to Paramount+.
“It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids,” Mitchell said.
Please keep the actor in your prayers as he continues to recover from the health scare.
Movieguide® previously reported:
Kel Mitchell was once a hugely popular child star, but the actor recently shared the new role he’s felt called to take on — a youth minister.
Mitchell became a star while appearing on Nickelodeon’s ALL THAT and KENAN & KEL. He still appears on TV and in movies from time to time, and became a licensed pastor in 2019.
“I’ve always known God,” Mitchell explained. “Grew up in a church, but there’s a difference between knowing God and having a relationship with God. And I just got to a point in my life where I wanted to make sure that He was in everything that I do. Because when I was trying to figure out everything on my own, I got into a lot of frustration and situations.”
