The Grammy winner won’t be the only Louisianan to represent her home state at the big game. Jon Batiste will be singing the National Anthem and Ledisi will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Both singers are native to New Orleans.

“I’m excited. It’s going to be a beautiful opportunity for us to showcase what New Orleans represents, and the culture, and the beauty of unity in music,” Daigle said.

“New Orleans has seen some trying times recently,” the 33-year-old went on to say. “To be able to offer a sound of hope for people in this city, to sing out over the city and from the city into the rest of the world, is going to be one of my favorite things, maybe ever.”

On New Years, a driver killed 14 people and injured 57 in a terrorist attack in New Orleans. The Big Easy is on high alert leading up to the Super Bowl with President Donald Trump planning to attend, along with an estimated 100,000 visitors.

The “You Say” singer won’t be the only Christian presence at the game this Feb. 9 as the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Philadelphia Eagles, as a number of players have been open about their faith.

Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said, “It’s important to me every single day. It’s not about football, it’s just giving glory to God for being able to walk around and live my life, to have a beautiful family, to be able to have the impact on others and I’m going to use that stage and that platform win or lose to give glory back to Him, to hopefully bring others closer to Him and that they can have the same love for life that I have because of that.”

Chiefs wide Receiver Justin Watson said that when he prays each game for God to use him for His glory, it’s not about winning.

Watson said, “It’s humbling…[J]ust to be in a position and this platform and knowing it’s by His grace and His providence is just, is just know that He’s treating me much better than anything I deserve.”

Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert said that his faith is his “solid foundation.”

“[Y]ou know all credit goes out to Him. And you know I’m just so blessed that He’s been giving me this opportunity you know to show the skills that He gave me on such a big platform,” Goedert said.

If the Chiefs defeat the Eagles this Sunday, they will be the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three times in a row.
