Lifetime announced Wednesday that it has a new lineup of movies about women who believe in God.

The Saturday-night movies are “centered on women facing unfathomable circumstances, who use their faith to lead them through,” TVLine reported.

The first movie in the lineup is FAITH IN THE FLAMES: THE NICHOLE JOLLY STORY. On July 19, Chrissy Metz stars as nurse Nichole Jolly, who helps Paradise, California, residents during a terrible fire.

“Nichole’s bravery and devotion to others, even when everything around her was collapsing, is something we don’t see enough of,” Metz said. “Her story reminds us that faith isn’t abstract-it’s what we cling to when we have nothing else.”

The movie will highlight the Rebuild Paradise Foundation. A+E Media, which owns Lifetime, also made a donation in support of the fire victims, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In BEFORE YOUR FATHER FINDS US, Alexa PenaVega stars as a mom desperate to hide herself and her teen daughter from her violent ex after he escapes a maximum security prison, drawing on her faith to do so. Jaeda Lily Miller, who plays Allie in WHEN CALLS THE HEART, will portray PenaVega’s daughter. Tahmoh Penikett will star as PenaVega’s ex-husband. The movie airs July 26.

The third movie in the queue is IF I RUN. Based on a book of the same name, the movie features a woman on the run after she’s framed for her best friend’s murder. It stars THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Kat Graham on Aug. 2. It also stars Evan Roderick and James Tupper.

Lastly, on Aug. 9, Paula Patton will headline FINDING FAITH. Patton stars as a woman who must rebuild her life after facing tragedy and addiction. It also stars Loretta Devine, Stephen Bishop, Nadine Velazquez, Demetrius Grosse and Keith David.

Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and LMN, told The Hollywood Reporter, “We are always listening to our audience, and we know there has always been a desire for stories that reflect strength, resilience, and faith. With these four new films, we’re thrilled to step into the faith-based space in a way that feels authentic, powerful, and deeply emotional. These are stories of healing, hope, and perseverance — and we believe they will resonate with anyone who’s ever faced adversity and looked for light in the darkness.”

Viewers have been flocking to see faith-based movies and series recently, which is a great thing. Lifetime must be catching on.
