For Madi Prewett Troutt, her prayer life is a “discipline” that became a “delight.”

“My old church did this thing called 21 days of prayer and fasting,” the BACHELOR alum said during an episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.”

Troutt explained that her church’s event started at 6:00 a.m., and everyone would pray for a full hour.

“I’m like, ‘What am I going to say to God for an hour?’” she joked. “It was a little awkward at first. It was like, ‘I don’t really know what to pray.’”

Troutt continued, “But then as I continued to show up…and I made it a discipline, and I was really seeking — like, ‘Lord, I want to know you better. I want this relationship to be strong. I want to pray with power.’ By the end of the time, an hour wasn’t enough. I was like, ‘I could do more three more hours!’”

“Even to this day, it is my favorite way to connect with the Lord, and I just think that sometimes it does start out as a discipline before it turns to delight,” she concluded.

Troutt uses her platform to share her Christian faith, telling The Christian Post, “I think my whole life I just imagined, ‘God shows up on mission trips, God shows up in churches, God shows up in the confinements of a home.’ But I never would have imagined that God would use somebody like me and something like THE BACHELOR, something so secular, to make His name known.”

“I learned so much through it. I feel like a lot of the girls on the show were so encouraged and a lot of them, honestly, have come to know Jesus through it,” she continued. “So many girls have given their heart to Jesus and girls who have decided to wait until marriage, just hearing me talk about my decision. It has just been so cool. We’re all called to step out in faith and sometimes it doesn’t look like what we thought.”

The former reality star recently announced she will be stepping back from social media, as she wants to focus on what’s really important.

“So often we just complain about the things that keep us further from God, confidence, and living our life full of peace and purpose..and yet do nothing about it,” Troutt wrote in a January Instagram post. “For me, that’s taking a break from social media.”

She added, “Pray about what brave thing you may need to lay down and give to God. Believing this will be our BEST year yet!”

Whether it’s through her public appearances and interviews or online, Troutt is all about sharing her love of God with others.
