Your Favorite Clean Comedian Might Star in a New Christmas Movie
By Movieguide® Contributor
Clean comedian Nate Bargatze might star in an holiday film titled CHRISTMAS IN PARADISE.
The “holiday family comedy” is in early stages of development at Amazon MGM Studios and with United Artists’ Scott Stuber, according to Deadline.
Bargatze would play a small town doctor who “finds himself with a unique bounty on his head just a week before Christmas, in a town where everything is not as it seems,” a synopsis reads.
This would mark his second foray into movies. THE BREADWINNER, a comedy based on his and Dan Lagana’s pitch, will be Bargatze’s first starring role.
Currently, Bargatze is preparing for his Big Dumb Eyes tour, which will begin on Aug. 16 in Orlando, Florida.
From there, the comedian will travel the United States as well as to Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and more.

His success as a comedian still surprises Bargatze.
“It doesn’t feel like it’s happening to you,” he told TODAY of his comedy journey. “Even back there, I was like, ‘I don’t know what anybody would want to hear me say.’”
“It’s a lot to take in. Maybe you take it in later at another time. Maybe you sit back and really think,” he added. “Right now you stay in it, and you be as good as you possibly can be.”
Bargatze uses his massive success for good, though, and started his own media company, Nateland Entertainment, which he wants to “be a safe space for families.”

“I think entertainment, you see with Hollywood, it’s very much detached from what people want to see,” he explained. “People are not making stuff for families to even go to.”
