Netflix is about to launch 14 new video games, including one based on EMILY IN PARIS and THE DRAGON PRINCE: XADIA and “Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Netflix’s game strategy:
While Netflix’s library of games has been exclusive to mobile, the company is also looking to boost popularity by expanding to games that can be played on TVs and computers.
Furthermore, the company is now helping gamers find content suited for them by tailoring game recommendations to the user rather than showing the most recent games to hit the library as suggestions.
Netflix clearly believes in its game platform and views it as a worthwhile endeavor to pursue. Already it has spent an estimated $1 billion on the service, despite as little as 1% of subscribers engaging with the games on a daily basis.
Fans have expected THE DRAGON PRINCE: XADIA for a long time. Wonderstorm first started work on the game in 2019.
“The game will be part of Wonderstorm’s Expanded Universe of The Dragon Prince, developed in tandem with the main show over the past few years,” What’s on Netflix reported Tuesday. “Two board games (one called Tales of Xadia), companion books, comics, novels, toys, and collectibles have been released as part of that expanded universe.”
As Amazon Prime snagged RINGS OF POWER, and Warner Bros. works on a new LOTR movie for a 2026 release, “Tales of the Shire” is Netflix’s first LOTR project.
“Netflix will exclusively carry the mobile versions of the game, although the game is due to be released on a slew of other platforms, albeit they won’t be free as part of your Netflix subscription,” What’s on Netflix reported about “Tales of the Shire.”
