POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! is getting a second season!
“POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! has been renewed for Season 2, moving from Amazon Prime Video to Netflix,” sources revealed to Variety.
The sources also shared that Prime Video “changed its strategy” for game shows, which is why they began shopping the spin-off around the other distributors.

Suzanne Prete, president of game shows at Sony Pictures Television, said, “POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic game play, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers,” she added.
SNL’s Colin Jost is in talks to return as the host for the show’s second season, which is expected to release in 2026.
Some former JEOPARDY! contestants recently weighed in on how the “Weekend Update” anchor has done as a game show host.
“Great,” Emily Hogg, who competed on both the original and spin-off show, said of Jost’s performance during an episode of the INSIDE JEOPARDY PODCAST. “Two thumbs up.”
She continued, “I was skeptical because hosting this is a little different than Weekend Update, which we all know he is fabulous at. After the first episode, we were like he’s a natural. He’s great. You can tell he really loves what he’s doing. He got a little emotional at the finale.”
“He was an absolute natural, interacting with us, and making us feel relaxed enough to have fun and participate,” former contestant Miranda Onnen added. “I think the looser style of [POP CULTURE] JEOPARDY! made him perfect for that. 10 out of 10. No notes. A+.”
JEOPARDY! producer Michael Davies shared that he was initially hesitant to have a host that wasn’t already part of the game show’s world, but when Amazon Prime floated Jost, he jumped at the idea.
“I knew what a fan he is of JEOPARDY! and he knows the show inside and out,” he said. “I think that is one of the things that makes him such a good host. He is passionate. He really cares. He was nervous for all of [the contestants] that [they] were getting to play for all of this money.”
Fans of the spin-off game show can’t want to play along at home with POP CULTURE JEOPARDY!’s second season!
