PRICE IS RIGHT Crew Shares Details About SUPERFANS Special

THE PRICE IS RIGHT crew reveals how they put together their recent superfan special.
“The superfans of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, they know the show better than all of us that work here,” said Evelyn Warfel, an executive producer on the game show.
To make the PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT: SUPERFANS special, the game show posted an application on social media to find their superfans.
Applicants were asked things like “What are some of the former announcers or former models?” or “Do you remember games that have been retired?” and “What’s our studio number?” to determine the biggest fans, Variety reported.
The show’s crew also picked prizes that would hold special meaning for the contestants, like dinner with the show’s host, Drew Carey, and a signed yodeler from “Cliff Hangers.”
The SUPERFANS special also allowed the show’s cast and crew to reflect on the impact THE PRICE IS RIGHT has had on their lives.
“I like being here more than being at home or anywhere else,” Carey laughed.
Announcer George Gray said, “I’ve hosted a lot of shows, but this one is so special and so iconic. It’s so woven into the fabric of our lives in America.”
THE PRICE IS RIGHT recently mourned the loss of original host Bob Barker, who died earlier this year. He was 99 years old.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us,” Barker’s publicist Roger Neal said in a statement.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT ran a special tribute episode where they honored Barker’s legacy.
“Most people remember Bob from the 35 years he spent hosting THE PRICE IS RIGHT,” Carey said. “So it’s easy to forget that for 18 years, he was a fixture in America’s living rooms for TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, a radio host before that, and a naval aviator during World War II. We’ll also remember Bob for his tireless work on behalf of all animals from whales and elephants to the cats and dogs who reminded everybody at the end of the show to get spayed or neutered.”
He continued, “You know, I mentioned the word ‘legend’ earlier and how that word gets thrown around all too much these days. It couldn’t be more appropriate when you think about Bob’s time on THE PRICE IS RIGHT.”
