Reba McEntire Preps for THE VOICE With Seasoned Coaches
By Movieguide® Contributor
THE VOICE’s coaches shared a fun selfie together as the singing competition show prepares for Season 24.
“Get in besties, we’re going to blinds,” the Instagram caption read. The photo shows veteran coaches Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Niall Horan, with the show’s newest coach, Reba McEntire, and host Carson Daly.
“I’d rather ride around with y’all!!!” McEntire joked in the comments section.
McEntire previously served as a mega mentor on THE VOICE and shared her excitement to join the show as a coach.
“I’m looking forward to being here with all of y’all,” the country star said during a visit to the show last season. “You’ve treated me so nicely. I appreciate the hospitality so much that you showed me earlier. And to be able to come in and form my team, I’m so looking forward to it.”
While the show’s stars and viewers look forward to the new season, many will miss Blake Shelton, who left THE VOICE after coaching every season since its premiere in 2011.
In an Instagram post, Daly joked about Shelton’s absence from the upcoming season of THE VOICE.
“My first day ever shooting @nbcthevoice without @blakeshelton. We had a ritual of getting hair & makeup together for 23 seasons. I think I’m handling it well. Everything’s fine,” he wrote under a selfie of himself crying.
Movieguide® previously reported on Shelton’s departure from THE VOICE:
Blake Shelton has been a coach on THE VOICE for the show’s entire run, but the country star is getting ready to say goodbye. Season 23 will be his last on THE VOICE.
The singer shared that the show changed his life in many ways, including his relationships.
“I met my wife on this show,” Shelton shared. “It’s changed my life in every way it possibly can, from a personal standpoint.”
He continued, “When I came on as a coach on this show, I mean, everything in my life was turned upside down,” he added. “And in a good way, you know? This has been incredible, but it’s time, you know. It’s time for not even what’s next. A little bit of nothing would be nice.”
