Roma Downey Challenges Followers to Remember Their ‘Eternal Inheritance’

Actress Roma Downey shared a video on her Instagram that spoke to listeners as if God was talking, encouraging them to remember that they have an eternal inheritance.
“I am your portion. Do you know what this really means? It means you have an eternal inheritance. A lot in my kingdom. It means you do not need to strive to receive me. Your inheritance has been promised. You are woven into a heavenly lineage. And adopted into my family,” Downey read.
The video is inspired by Numbers 18:20, which reads, “And the Lord said to Aaron, ‘You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.'”
“Some of you don’t believe it. I can tell because of how you carry yourself. You enter a room as if someone else owns it,” Downey continued. “You speak as if your voice doesn’t matter. You avoid risks as if you could control your future. It aches my heart to see my children forget where they come from. And what belongs to them. I am your portion forever. I am yours irrevocably and completely. I am your source, your well, your manna in the desert.”
“Let your spirit meditate on this reality and feel it deep within your bones,” the video concluded. “You are guaranteed space in my kingdom. An eternal inheritance through my spirit. How does that change how you see your future? How does that change when you choose to speak up? How does that change who you see in the mirror?”
Downey is committed to sharing her faith. Through her Light Workers organization, she creates “engaging uplifting, and inspirational content that breaks through the clutter, building a community of sharing and igniting a movement in the real world that motivates people to celebrate and share the good all around them.”
Her latest faith-based project, THE BAXTERS, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 28.
“The series stars and is executive produced by actress, producer, and New York Times best-selling author Roma Downey as the family matriarch, Elizabeth Baxter,” Patheos reported. “Also starring is Ted McGinley (SHRINKING, MARRIED…WITH CHILDREN) as John Baxter. THE BAXTERS is slated to stream spring 2024 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.”
“In this deeply moving faith-based journey, The Baxters must come together as a family to work through the challenges of life,” Patheos added.

For Downey, bringing quality, biblically grounded, and family-friendly content to audiences is one of her primary goals as streaming services become saturated with new content.
“If you’re a screenwriter, the Bible has everything,” Downey told Fox News in a recent interview. “There’s tension, betrayal, love, sacrifice, heroism, drama, danger – you name it. It has all the ingredients that make up a great story.”
Downey continued: “But it’s deeper than that. People are hungry for God. I think they’re hungry for hope. We’ve been so visual and there are so many streaming services now. There’s so much content available. But I think people truly want to see these stories on the screen. And the Bible is beautiful.”
One of the things that adaptions do is help audiences relate to the characters from the Bible.
“I think watching the Bible on the screen allows people to make a real emotional connection. And this story focuses on the disciples. We look back and see just how heroic and courageous they were. I’m sure they were scared to death and yet they persevered. And I think audiences can relate to that,” Downey explained. “We see ourselves in them and it makes us feel even more connected to the story.”
