Grammy-Nominated Artist Urges Us to Look to Jesus for Joy in 2025

Grammy-nominated artist Tauren Wells wants us to find our joy in Jesus this year.
“The thing about Jesus is He chooses his words very wisely,” the Christian singer told TBN. “The last word of the Old Testament is ‘curse’; the first word out of Jesus’ mouth in a public setting in a recorded scripture is ‘blessed,’ and He tells us how to be blessed, how to be joyful.”
Wells explained that the location where Jesus communicated this lesson is key.
“The the crazy thing is where He chooses to preach. We know it’s the Sermon of the Mount, the Beatitudes, but it’s actually Mount Aramis. Aramis means desolate, isolated and strength. So Jesus chooses a desolate, isolated place to tell people where to find true strength,” Wells continued. “He doesn’t point them to anything external. He doesn’t point them to things, to notoriety, to platform, to significance. He points them inward. Joyful are the pure in spirit. Joy is from the inside.”

For those struggling to find joy, the singer has this reminder.
“Maybe you’ve tried to find joy in a relationship, joy in a promotion. Somehow joy is always around the next corner, the next destination. Can I tell you that you are joyful? You are blessed. The curse has ended when you look at your spirit and say, ‘Though I am unworthy and I have little to offer, Jesus has called me son, Jesus has called me daughter, and I get to be a part of his eternal plan to bring redemption to the world,’ which means redemption for your life,” he declared.
He explores finding joy in the Lord in his song “Joy in the Morning”:
Giving in to your feelings is like drowning in the shadows
Oh, you gotta keep believing even in the middle of the unknown
‘Cause grace will be there when you come to the end of your rope and you let go (Oh)
It may feel like you’re goin’ down now, but the story isn’t over (Oh)
There will be joy in the morning
There will be joy in the morning (Oh), ayy
If it’s not good, then He’s not done

Wells rang in the new year reflecting on God’s mercies.
“Leaving old mindsets in 2024. Trusting in the God of the impossible and making room for miracles, signs, and wonders in 2025. His mercies are new every morning. We are about to have 365 fresh mornings, fresh mercies. What will you do with it??” he posted on Instagram.
