After the success of her first “Jesus Take the Wheel” video, mom influencer Lindsey Gurk released a part two with more jokes about a life with God in control.
“You take the wheel, okay, you are in control, thank you,” Gurk begins the video as if she’s talking to Jesus, before adding, “what, that guy just cut us off and flipped us the bird. Is it flipping tables time? Tell me it is flipping tables time. Forgive? Just forgive?”
Other scenes from the skit include “taking the scenic route,” stopping (or not stopping) for roadtrip snacks, listening to secular music and facing a bumpy road because of a bad joke.
The hilarious video is a follow up to a first “Jesus Take the Wheel” video that went mega viral. Though the video was extremely funny, Gurk did not go into it with a plan. Rather she said a prayer and then allowed Jesus to take the wheel, both in the skit and in real life.
“Welcome to what my journey looks like sometimes. Backstory: I usually create a loose script on what I’m going to do (to keep me on track because, ya know…it’s like a mixed thought salad up there ) but today I just said a prayer and winged it. And it was SO enjoyable,” Gurk wrote in the caption of the first video.

Though Gurk has known the Lord for most of her life, her relationship with Him has been rocky at times. Through high school, she drifted apart from Him, but when her mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer for the second time, she turned back to Him for comfort.
“I got up and opened my dusty Bible, it was like in my sock drawer for I don’t know how many years,” she explained. A verse she read touched her, and she asked her husband to go to church the next day.
In 2020, her relationship with the Lord became even stronger after the birth of her daughter. Since then, she has been on fire for God and now uses her platform of over 2 million followers in Instagram to spread the Gospel and encourage others to turn to the Lord.
“He’s big picture, and He’s in the details, and His love is so overwhelming, and you know that everybody has the ability to receive it, and it’s just about receiving it. And at the same time, you’re like, ‘He gives this to everybody, but He makes me feel like I’m the most important person in the world, even though I’m just a speck,’” she said. “I just want people to know that love, because His love changes everything. It’s not about what you do…He guides you in what you’re supposed to do.”
Praise the Lord for Gurk’s commitment to the Lord, whether she is sharing his faithfulness in a hilarious way or a serious testament of how He has impacted her life.
