WCTH Star Returns Home for the First Time Since 5-Story Fall
By Movieguide® Contributor
Three months after a five-story fall that shattered her body, WHEN CALLS THE HEART actress Mamie Laverock was discharged from the hospital to continue her recovery at home.
The amazing update was shared on Laverock’s Facebook along with pictures of the sweet scene waiting for her when she got home.
“Dreams do come true,” the post said. “Welcome home Mamie.” Laverock’s homecoming included a cake, a rainbow made of balloons, a “home sweet home” sign with a picture of her on it and a get-well-soon poster from her “T7 team.”
Though Laverock was able to return home, she still has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
“She’s still severely injured, but we will take care of her privately,” Laverock’s Facebook said in response to a fan’s question about her condition, per Fox News. “She needed to be at home. So happy for her. She made it this far…next chapter. It’s a blessing to have her home.”
This is the second major step in Laverock’s recovery to occur this month. At the beginning of August, her family shared an incredible update when the actress took her first steps since the accident.
“Thank you surgeons, thank you prayers, thank you Lord,” said the caption of a video shared on Facebook sharing the milestone. “Mamie has just taken her first steps.”
Laverock’s horrific 5-story fall occurred at the end of May. She had already been in the hospital for two weeks in response to an undisclosed medical emergency. While being escorted on a walk in the hospital, she fell off of a high-up balcony.
Though her parents are enraged at the event and plan on suing the hospital for allowing such an accident to happen, they are mostly just thankful that Laverock survived and is now well on the road to recovery.
“It’s a miracle,” Laverock’s mother told PEOPLE about being able to hug her daughter on her 20th birthday.
Please keep Laverock in your prayers as she returns home to continue her recovery.
