‘That Went Fast’: Al Roker Celebrates Granddaughter’s 2-Month Birthday

Al Roker is celebrating granddaughter Sky’s 2-month birthday.
“Here’s to my little Sky Clara being here 2 months,” he captioned an Instagram post. “That went fast.”
The photos he posted show Roker holding Sky and sitting with her asleep on his chest.
Sky is Roker’s first grandchild. His daughter Courtney and her husband, Wesley, welcomed their first child earlier this year.
“It is magical, it really is,” Roker said of becoming a grandpa. “The thing is, everyone tells you it’s going to be ‘this thing,’ and you don’t know; it’s like when they tell you about having your first child. And then to hold this little girl, knowing almost 35 years ago I held her mom? And here she is, 5 lbs., 15 oz. 19 inches long and she’s just perfect.”
PEOPLE reported, “Although the origin of Sky’s name seems to relate to his profession, Roker insisted it ‘had nothing to do with the fact that I’m a weather person’ — though it couldn’t be more fitting. Clara, meanwhile, is the name of Courtney’s godmother, he noted.”
Roker also celebrated Sky’s 1-month birthday with a funny picture of her crying.
“My little Sky not so happy about the photo shoot Mom and Dad set up,” the TODAY anchor joked.

Roker said that Courtney’s baby is due in July.
“Deborah is still not quite sure about the grandma thing, but we’re very excited,” he said about his current wife Deborah Roberts. “It still hasn’t quite sunken in.”
Roker shares Courtney with ex-wife Alice Bell. He is also father to Leila, 24, and Nick, 20, who he shares with wife Deborah Roberts.
Roker said that he hopes to be the “best grandfather.”
“It depends on what you consider the best grandfather,” he said. “For this grandchild, I’m going to be the best grandpa ever because I’m going to do whatever I can to spoil this kid.”
