Why This Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Lets God ‘Pilot’ Her Life
By Movieguide® Contributor
Reece Allman (previously Weaver) never thought she would be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, but she quickly realized that she wasn’t the one in control of her life.
As she began to put Christ first, He began to guide her path in unexpected ways.
“I never thought that this was kind of His plan for my life, but He knows best and His timing is best, and sometimes I just have to sit there and be like, ‘Okay God, just do Your thing. Pilot. I’ll be the passenger,'” Allman said on the first episode of Sports Spectrum’s new “What’s Up” podcast. “It’s been such a blessing, and to answer your question, I never thought this would happen to me.”

As the summer ended and Allman prepared for her second season as a Cowboys cheerleader, she had a lot to reflect on.
“There’s been a lot of new, a ton of laughs, hard work, heartfelt moments, and precious memories made,” she wrote on her social media. “I find myself asking God more and more these days how this life is actually mine. It’s not all butterflies and rainbows. In fact, it’s a lot harder than I imagined. Yet, in the chaos and sometimes hardships, I am reminded again and again, just how good and gracious our God is. Thank you, Lord.”
In addition to her dance career, Allman uses her platform to become a voice for the voiceless.
Last year, she partnered with Beckett’s Blessing Box to raise awareness for National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.
“Beckett’s Blessing Box is a nonprofit organization that is so near and dear to my heart,” she posted on her Instagram. “This organization is led by two individuals who’ve lost one of their own and are on mission to making the Kingdom bigger.
“Beckett’s Blessing Box has sent over 500 boxes to 40 states and 7 countries,” she added. “It is their mission to minister to families who’ve lost a child in hopes that they may find comfort and healing through the resources included in the boxes.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Allman’s faith:
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and live securely,” she posted, quoting Psalm 37:3-4. “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
“Over the past 2 months, this has been my prayer,” Weaver added. “Wherever I go, and whatever I do, may it bring Him glory and shape me into the Reece God has made me to be. God is so faithful and His goodness has been so evident.”
“I have been covered with so much love, support, and encouragement from so many people. Every text, message sent, and call I have received, has made my heart flood with thankfulness,” she wrote. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my family, friends, instructors, mentors, and teachers who’ve played a significant role in my life. Each of you have helped shape me into the Reece I am today.”
“God’s timing, plans, and His purpose for your life, is greater than anything you can imagine. All you have to do is allow God to use you🤍,” she concluded.
