Wife of TWILIGHT Star Reminds Us Where to Find Our Worth (It’s Not Social Media)

Brittany Lutz, wife of TWILIGHT star Kellan Lutz, shared a poem she wrote to encourage her fans to stop finding their worth through social media and instead focus on who they are in real life.
“Staying up way to late scrolling, / thinking I’ll find something new. / Tell myself I’m just ‘decompressing’ / but I know that isn’t true,” the poem began. “Getting lost in other people’s feeds / who are really just feeding off of me. / Feeding off my time and energy and sanity, / and leaving me empty.”
“When will we love ourselves enough to simply swipe up and out and close our eyes? / When will we realize our beautiful minds weren’t created for all this stimuli?” Lutz’s poem continued. “The great news it it’s never too late to put up new boundaries, / to draw a line in the sand. / It’s time for us to stop allowing others to tell us who we are and what we should do/think/buy, / And confidently be able to say ‘I AM _____’”
“I am a mom. / I am a daughter. / I am a wife. / I have hobbies. / I have dreams. / I have my OWN life.” Lutz added. “As cool as it is to follow others / and use them to feel inspired, / remember that people who truly bring you life never leave your heart and soul feeling tired.”
Lutz’s poem is a powerful reminder that we were made for community and face-to-face interaction with others. While social media can be a great tool that God uses for good, it also has many downsides and can greatly impact us if we let it.
Rather than focus on all of the parts of social media that have caused a crisis of depression, anxiety and suicide in our country, she encourages us to take the good of social media and leave the bad.
Lutz has previously encouraged her fans to have a vision and goals for their life so they can continue to grow, rather than remain stagnant.

Brittany Lutz, wife of TWILIGHT actor Kellan Lutz, reminded her followers why having a vision for their lives is key when following Christ.
She shared a devotional based on John 7:38, which says, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
“The devotional says, ‘When you think about a river, you may think of a stream that leads into a larger body of water like a pond, lake or ocean. All water is not created equal, in fact stagnant water is toxic,’” she began.
“Water needs to flow,” she continued reading. “Jesus uses a river to explain one of the greatest gifts of being a believer in and a carrier of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. He didn’t just say we’d be full of water. No, he specifically decreed that multiple streams of Living Water will flow from within us.”
