Will THE CHOSEN Season 4 Hit Prime Video Soon?
By Movieguide® Contributor
As of July 1, THE CHOSEN is now available on Prime Video, allowing the show to reach over 200 million Americans on the nation’s second-largest streaming platform.
The first three seasons of THE CHOSEN were added to Prime Video’s lineup last summer, where it maintained a spot on the platform’s top 10 list for over 90 consecutive days. Now the entirety of the latest season joins the lineup as the final episode of Season 4 became available at the end of June.
Season 4 of the show brings Jesus and the disciples closer to the crucifixion as they experience some of the hardest and most miraculous parts of the Gospel story. Along with a tougher storyline, Jesus becomes harder on the disciples as well, as He becomes frustrated by their blindness to the history-altering story that they are part of.
“Oh, they’re going to be learning some hard lessons,” Jonathan Roumie told Movieguide® earlier this year. “I think the biggest lesson is to trust. Trust is a big one. It’s like no matter how often Jesus tries to tell them — at this point, He’s telling them very plainly, very clearly — like, ‘Trust me. This is going to happen and this is going to happen, but just trust me.’ And it just [goes over their heads]. So I think trust is one of the hardest lessons to try to be taught this season.”
Along with becoming available on Prime Video, Season 4 of THE CHOSEN is also available on THE CHOSEN App.
As for Season 5 of the show, the cast and crew have been filming for over two months. The upcoming season will likely be even more impactful than Season 4 as Jesus walks through Holy Week and comes within days of His death.
Movieguide® previously reported:
The cast and crew of THE CHOSEN are excited to get back into the swing of things as filming for Season 5 begins.
“[Things] have gone remarkably well,” Jonathan Roumie said. “I arrived feeling like I don’t know how this is going to go, and praise God, it went really well. Day two [of filming] was even easier than day one, much lighter. We were able to have some time to kind of joke around a little bit.”
Even though it’s been over half a year since the cast wrapped filming for Season 4, they felt like they were able to quickly return to their characters and fall into their close relationships.
“I blinked by eyes, and I’m starting season five now. Has there been a break? I don’t know. It’s nice weather—that’s a first for THE CHOSEN,” Elizabeth Tabish said.
“I’m proud of how we’ve really settled into our familiarity with each other and our sense of family,” added Abe Bueno-Jallad. “A lot of things are shifting so quickly, and I’m allowing myself to be impacted by them because this just feels like such a different season.”
