A CHRISTMAS PRINCESS is a sweet, heartfelt movie. It has a light Romantic worldview where characters have an idealized version of Christmas. There are some positive moral elements about caring for others, especially during Christmas. The movie also has some Pro-American, patriotic elements and some overt Christian content, including a rendition of “Silent Night.” The lead female character, however, displays some Romantic, humanist, feminist qualities where she doesn’t think she needs any help and asserts she’s in charge of her own destiny. More Detail:

A CHRISTMAS PRINCESS takes place in New York City. A young chef named Jessica struggles to keep her business afloat. Her landlord gives her one month to pull in some profits, or she’ll have to close up shop. Thankfully, a foreign prince named Jack is in town for his family’s annual Christmas banquet. He asks her to cater the event after he disagrees with a high-profile chef.

It seems things are finally looking up for Jessica! However, Jessica’s friends and family think there might be a romantic spark between her and the Prince, although Jessica asserts it’s just a professional relationship.

As Jessica tells Jack the dishes she plans to prepare, he takes an interest in her. He is incredibly respectful and becomes intrigued by Jessica’s hardworking, do-it-yourself mentality. Jessica takes Jack outside the city for a small-town Christmas experience in the place where she was raised. During their daytrip, Jessica starts to realize she might have feelings for Prince Jack.

However, will Jack’s royal parents approve of the gossip that tabloids continue to stir up? Is Jessica a good fit for Jack? Will he stand up for her, or fall prey to the woman his mother wants him to date?

A CHRISTMAS PRINCESS is a sweet TV movie that ends just the way viewers will expect. If one is looking for a heartfelt movie, look no further than this little romance. That said, the lead actress doesn’t quite match the acting level of her onscreen love interest, which is a little distracting.

A CHRISTMAS PRINCESS has a strong Romantic worldview. The characters have an idealized version of Christmas. There are, however, some positive moral elements about caring for others, especially during Christmas, and some patriotic values where characters support an American military man and extol small town American values. Also, though, the lead female character displays some Romantic, feminist and humanist qualities where she doesn’t think she needs any help and asserts that she’s the one in charge of her own destiny. Overt Christian elements in the movie include some carolers who sing part of “Silent Night.” MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.
