A GIFT HORSE is about Amanda, a little girl struggling with the death of her mother. Her father has a new girlfriend, Tiffany, but Amanda struggles to accept her despite her many good qualities.
Amanda spends much of her time at the horse ranch nearby, where the owner, Mr. Canton, allows her to work doing various chores. Amanda comes to love Misty, the horse Mr. Canton bought for his daughter to try to win the next competition. After Misty suffers from an injury, Mr. Canton wants to cut his losses and get rid of the horse, but becomes convinced to give Misty another try. Amanda refuses to give up and shows those around her just how much hard work and a big heart can accomplish.
