More Detail:

In AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM, Aquaman must stop David Kane, aka Black Manta, from destroying the world using some ancient banned technology from Atlantis that’s greatly accelerating global warming and threatening to destroy the kingdoms on the land and the kingdoms under the sea. AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM tells an exciting, jeopardy-filled adventure story, laced with lots of humor and a strong pro-family message, but it has too much foul language, some intense action violence and a strong environmentalist message promoting the false globalist agenda of apocalyptic climate change.

David Kane has sworn revenge against Aquaman and his family after the superhero refused to save David’s father, who led a pirate attack against a Russian submarine. Now, David has found a lost undersea kingdom under Antarctica. The kingdom’s leader turned demonic, however, and was placed in an ice prison by the then King of Atlantis. He left behind a broken black trident. David, aka Black Manta, finds the trident, but when he puts the two pieces together, the trident’s black magic or evil energy, lets the demonic leader possess David’s mind and control him whenever he wants.

Led by the demonic villain, David uses the black trident’s power to repair his Black Manta suit and even make it more powerful than before when David fought Aquaman and lost. David also learns Atlantis is storing in 12 secret locations tons of a glowing green energy that Atlantis has banned because it’s too destructive of the environment.

Meanwhile, back in Atlantis, Aquaman is burdened with the duties of being the King. He feels the duties are so BORING! He’d much rather spend time with his wife, Mera, and their new baby son. Also, Aquaman is frustrated that the Council, which really runs Atlantis, won’t let him do the reforms he’s always wanted to do. In addition, the faction controlling the Council doesn’t want Atlantis to reveal itself to the humans living on the land and work with them, as Aquaman wants. The Council is also increasingly alarmed that the global warming, allegedly caused by humans living on the land, suddenly seems to be accelerating at a rapid pace.

When David as Black Manta shows up as Black Manta at the biggest site storing the green energy, Aquaman discovers that David has somehow repaired his suit, making it much stronger. He also soon discovers that David has been refining the banned green energy on an uncharted volcanic island in the South Pacific. By using the green energy, David is the one who’s really been greatly accelerating the global warming.

Since David’s Black Manta suit is much more powerful, Aquaman believes he needs the help of his untrustworthy half-brother, Orm, who’s been placed in a desert prison. The Council refuses, however, to let Aquaman release Orm, but Aquaman secretly does it anyway. He appeals to Orm’s love for the people of Atlantis and the undersea creatures to go to David’s secret island and stop him. Orm agrees, but can Aquaman really trust his brother?

That consideration is the least of Aquaman’s troubles, however. Because the banned green energy not only has made the Black Manta suit much more powerful. It’s also placed some other new weapons under David’s control. Making matters worse, David kidnaps Aquaman’s son to use the baby’s DNA superpowers he inherited from his father to release the imprisoned demonic leader of the lost black kingdom.

AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM tells an exciting adventure story with great special effects. It has lots of jeopardy and plenty of funny jokes and situations. That said, some of the dialogue and jokes are a little hokey; and, the images of men riding seahorses that whinny and neigh like land horses is a bit ridiculous.

However, one of the best things about AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM is its strong pro-family, pro-life message. The movie is constantly promoting family, especially in its subplot of family reconciliation between Aquaman and his half-brother. Their mother strongly supports this reconciliation. The movie also has positive family scenes with Aquaman and his wife, baby and human father, Tom Curry, who named Aquaman Arthur. Finally, of course, the movie’s script ultimately entails Aquaman having to save his son and family from dark, evil forces. The script also deserves some kudos for making the villains demonic. It clearly has metaphors that link the ancient leader of the black kingdom with the Serpent of the Bible, Satan, who’s been imprisoned by God.

However, AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM has no positive references, implied or explicit to God. Also marring the movie is too much foul language, some intense action violence and a strong environmentalist message. For example, the movie promotes apocalyptic climate change, even though it was the movie’s villains who were creating the accelerated global warming. Also, the movie’s epilogue promotes globalist solutions for stopping climate change. In the epilogue, Aquaman verbally supports the kingdoms on the land and the kingdoms under the sea working together to stop it. Finally, there are two scenes where Aquaman’s infant son urinates into his face and mouth while he’s changing the bay’s diapers. Also, Aquaman tells his half-brother that cockroaches are the “shrimp of the land,” and the brother eats a cockroach and clearly enjoys it.

MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution for the foul language and globalist climate change hysteria in AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM. The movie’s intense action violence, which includes armies fighting, also warrants a concern. The amount of action violence may be boring to some viewers, but the script nicely heightens the stakes in the violent conflict between the heroes and the villains.
