The title BESIDE STILL WATERS isn’t a truthful representation of the actual movie. Although the lake is still and calm, the movie itself is chock-full of immorality and is anything but peaceful, until the last few scenes where people must choose to forgive and accept each other or let others go. It’s difficult to follow any great sense of a story in BESIDE STILL WATERS since the movie is plastered with explicit lewd content, alcohol and drugs. The movie has a godless worldview that mitigates any of the positive messages about around friends coming to help a bereaved friend. The immoral content makes BESIDE STILL WATERS an excessive movie that media-wise viewers will avoid.

In BESIDE STILL WATERS, Daniel invites his friends to visit the lakeside home of his recently deceased parents where he and his friends grew up. Daniel is struggling to find closure for the death of his parents, who died in a car accident with his father drunk at the wheel. Tom hopes his friends will help him do that, but not everything goes as planned.
One of the only few redeeming qualities is Henry, who initially seemed the unsuspecting and doting fiancé. In the end, it’s revealed that Olivia, his bride-to-be, cheats on him repeatedly, but he forgives and takes her back because he loves her. However, despite his best of intentions, and value of marriage, Olivia’s sense of remorse does not last long.
