More Detail:

FIRE IN THE SKY is the allegedly true story of a man forcibly abducted by a U.F.O. The film spends about two thirds of its screen time exploring the psychological effects of the abduction on the people of Snowflake, Arizona: the changed lives of the five roughnecks who witnessed the event, the skeptical townspeople who doubt it ever happened, and the police who treat the disappearance as an unusual homicide. The remaining third of the movie takes us on board the alien spacecraft to experience the actual abduction, and the gruesome tortures endured by the unfortunate Travis as he is “examined” by his alien captors.

For those viewers expecting a science fiction epic, FIRE IN THE SKY will be a major disappointment since it doesn’t have a fast-paced plot, overwhelming special effects, or a dramatic ending. Like National Enquirer articles, most people will view FIRE IN THE SKY as a fictional story, but some will see it as a real life event that took place in Arizona in 1975. Either way, the good news is that these aliens are at least portrayed as the demonic forces that they very well may be, if they are not merely a figment of Travis Walton’s overactive imagination and his need for fame and fortune.
