More Detail:

THE OOGIELOVES IN THE BIG BALLOON ADVENTURE is an interactive theatrical experience meant for children ages three to five.

It’s Schluufy the talking pillow’s birthday, and the Oogieloves have lost all the magic balloons for the surprise party! Disaster turns to adventure when Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie set out to give their fluffy friend the birthday party of a lifetime.

The Oogieloves have big fun and make new friends along the way, including Dotty Rounder, Bobby Wobbly, Milky Marvin, Rosalie Rosebud, and Lola and Lero Sombero. With the help of J. Edgar the vacuum cleaner, Windy Window, and Ruffy, the Oogieloves and their new friends hope to find all the magic balloons and save Schluufy’s birthday. Can they do it before their friend wakes up from his sleep?

Throughout the movie, visual cues invite young audience members to sing and dance along with the Oogieloves, with choreography designed for the confined space in front of a movie theater seat. Producer Kenn Viselman hopes for the movie to reflect purely uplifting values, going so far as to remove dark hues from the color scheme and rounding computer-animated edges to make the Oogieloves’ home in Lovelyloveville as “loving” a place as possible. In several instances, the Oogieloves use the forces of love and kindness to solve their problems.

While the movie exemplifies positive qualities for its young audience, it presents a secular worldview that removes any mention of God. Also, the Windy Window character acts as sort of magic mirror. She possesses an all-knowing source of wisdom and intelligence. While the movie is intentionally squeaky clean and uplifting, its message doesn’t directly promote a Christian worldview.

Young children will enjoy dancing and singing along to THE OOGIELOVES IN THE BIG BALLOON ADVENTURE, but parents should be prepared for an unconventional theatrical experience. This may be the one time a movie has its young audiences off the “edge of their seats” and into the aisles.
