What You Need To Know:
In “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” the charming third episode of Dallas Jenkins’ new show THE CHOSEN, viewers take a short detour from the plots they’ve been following to spend some time with Jesus. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? It is. This episode introduces viewers to a Jesus at the very beginning of his ministry. He lives and works in a small camp, crafting small tools and equipment for local merchants and families in exchange for food. A group of children stumble upon Jesus’ camp and then return day after day, working with him and learning from him.
Earlier episodes give Jesus only a few minutes of screen time, but all 30 minutes of this piece are Jesus. They include His work, life and interactions with children. The episode contains continuing creative brilliance and some absolutely astounding detail work, such as when Jesus teaches the children his famous prayer or tells them the story of Elijah and the Two Bears. No foul language or questionable content occurs. “Jesus Loves the Little Children” is appropriate for all viewers. It actually serves as a sort of standalone story that could work in many contexts, including a Bible study or family lesson.
