How Quarantine Taught Nick and Vanessa Lachey to Communicate Better

By Allyson Vannatta, Senior Writer

Vanessa Lachey said that quarantine has helped her and her husband, Nick Lachey, learn to communicate better.

“I found that [quarantine has] allowed me and my husband to learn how to communicate better because when we aren’t communicating on the same page, we are shorter tempered and not as patient,” she told Fox News.

Vanessa married the multi-talented Nick Lachey in 2011. The couple now has three kids together.

“You don’t want to be that way,” she  added. “You don’t [want] to be snappy and punchy around your kids or to your spouse or to your friends. So we’ve learned how to take a beat and communicate better.”

Speaking of her children, the former TRL host explained that the “safety and well-being” of her youngsters have been her main focus.

As Vanessa and Nick wait to learn the fate of their children’s school year, she’s giving them “as much emotional confidence as they [need] by telling them how amazing they are and how great they’re still going to be.”

The mom of three still plans to take her kids’ annual “First Day of School” photo and keep their routine as normal as possible.

She encouraged other mothers not to forget to take care of themselves as they care for their families during this time.

“When your cup is full, you can be a better mom and a better wife and a better friend,” she said.
