Nightbirde Starts New Cancer Treatment: ‘See What Happens If You Don’t Give Up’

Jane Marczewski, better known as Nightbirde, made the difficult decision to step away from her run on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT to focus on her health amid a difficult battle with cancer.
In a recent update shared to Nightbirde’s Instagram, CNN anchor Christ Cuomo updated viewers on her well-being as she entered into a new phase of treatment.
“You want an update on Nightbirde, here it is: She is doing what she promised, she is fighting,” he said. “The amazingly talented singer, whose performance on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT made me just have to reach out to her. It’s incredible, and she has cancer, she has a really tough case, and she started a 10 or so week course of treatment. And let me tell you, she is fighting, and she is doing well.”
Nightbirde posted the short video on her Instagram with the caption: “UPDATE: Out here winnin and grinnin,” she wrote. “Thanks @chrisccuomo for being one of the loudest in my cheering section.”
The video cuts away from the CNN anchor and features Nightbirde, encouraging viewers to persevere.
“Just think about, don’t you want to see what happens if you don’t give up?” she said. “That’s what I keep saying to myself and that’s what I say to everyone watching tonight. Don’t you want to see what happens if you don’t give up.”
In a recent Instagram post, Nightbirde revealed that due to the treatments and cancer, she had dropped to 85 pounds.
Throughout her painful circumstances, Nightbirde keeps smiling and encourages others to smile.
“I just I love everything about her,” Cuomo continued. “I love being in touch with her and she is fighting, and she believes, and she’s doing better.”
“But the cancer is bad. She’ll be the first one to tell you, but it’s about how much quality, how much time, and how she uses it,” Cuomo added, showing a picture of Nightbirde. “There she is, there’s that big beautiful smile… The blood work came back, and the doctors are happy with the numbers. So, God bless. Keep going Nightbirde, we’re thinking about you, we’re praying. You were a gift to us, and we can’t wait to have you back.”

Nightbirde does not shy away from talking about how her battle has shaken her faith but always notes that she is never truly alone because God loves her.

Despite her trials, Nightbirde noted that she is unashamed about her faith in God and recognizes how He loves her no matter her situation.
“Life is complicated and friendship with God does not make life less complicated,” Nightbirde wrote. “But as I get older I am realizing that I would not have it any other way.”
Nightbirde said that she is in constant communion with God through prayer and asking for His mercy when life is “too much to bear.”
“Still, sometimes life is too much to bear. Occasionally an extreme circumstance interjects itself into your life and your’ live, laugh, love’ sign proves to be even more absurd than it normally does,” she wrote. “Forgive me if this offends you but I have a better friendship with God because I remain soft hearted and tender toward him in a life where sometimes nothing makes sense.”
