Pass Chris Pratt the Lasagna: Actor Will Voice GARFIELD in Upcoming Flick

Alcon Entertainment has found its lead for its upcoming animated GARFIELD movie.
Chris Pratt will voice the lasagna-loving, orange tabby cat in the reboot based on the classic comic strip by Jim Davis, Deadline confirmed.
Mark Dindal, known for other animated movies like Movieguide® Award-nominated CHICKEN LITTLE and EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE, is set to direct the Sony Pictures feature. Dindal previously attended the Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry.
The comic strip debuted in 1978, featuring a lazy cat named Garfield and his interactions with his owner Jon Arbuckle and Jon’s dog, Odie. Pratt is not the first to portray Garfield in a feature-length movie.
In 2004, Bill Murray voiced the cat in GARFIELD: THE MOVIE and its 2006 sequel, GARFIELD: A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES.
Pratt is no stranger to voice acting and is known for his role as Emmett in the Movieguide® Award-winning movie THE LEGO MOVIE and Barley Lightfoot in the Movieguide® Award nominee ONWARD.

When the Internet viciously attacked Chris Pratt over the last few days, dubbing him the “worst Chris” because of his conservative values and faith, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo refused to stay silent.
“What a world. . . The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my brother, Chris Pratt. . . A real Christian who lives by principle, has never demonstrated anything but positivity and gratitude,” Downey posted to Instagram.
Ruffalo tweeted, “You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is. I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life.”
Pratt, Downey and Ruffalo star as Star Lord, Iron Man and the Hulk in the Avengers franchise.
