After requests for prayers over the past couple of weeks, actor Tyrese Gibson announced the tragic news that his mother, Priscilla Murray, died on Feb. 14 due to COVID-19 and pneumonia.

“On behalf of my family and everyone who ever spent anytime praying for my mother This is the saddest moment of my life………. My sweet Valentine just passed away…..” Gibson, 43, wrote on Instagram.

“May the lord Jesus Christ and his angels open the doors of heavens and embrace her………. We as a family are broken and just can’t believe this……. May the lord Jesus Christ honor your walk with him and embrace you into the heavens…….” he added.

The post includes a video of Gibson holding his mother’s hand.

“From here on I ask that you HOLD MY HAND MOTHER and never let my hand go………. Like you held my hand as a child and a teen never let my hand go mother…..” Gibson concluded.

The FAST & FURIOUS actor also thanked jazz artist Kenny G for performing “Forever in Love” on an Instagram live video for Gibson and his mother.

“Dear @kennyg I will never ever forget what you did for our beloved mother you sent her into the heavens with the perfect melody……….” he wrote. “I am going to watch this clip over and over and remember that you sent her into the heavens on the sweetest Melodies….”

Gibson had shared various updates with fans concerning his mother’s condition in the hospital.

Actor Tyrese Gibson, known for FAST & FURIOUS and TRANSFORMERS, asked his followers to pray for his mother, who has pneumonia due to COVID-19.

Gibson shared the urgent message on Instagram.

“My mother is in a coma, in ICU, with pneumonia and she caught Covid they got her so sedated she can’t breathe or even eat on her own,” Gibson said on Feb. 7. “I need prayers the most sincere prayers from you prayer warriors.”

Despite the dire circumstances, Gibson said he trusts in the “power of Jesus,” and thanked God for “every breath.”

“Thank you Jesus for every 24 hours literally thank you Jesus for every BREATH! Life belongs to you and I’m so grateful that you have blessed my mother to see another day … Amen, Amen, Amen!” he wrote.

“If I can ask you for prayer I can also give you some good news about these blessings in progress. … If you don’t know you will know after you see this Jesus is real!” he added. “As I sit here, I’m thanking God for every breath … I am so grateful. She’s right here.”
