Boston Celtic’s center Al Horford recently helped lift his team past the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The game also marked the 36-year-old veteran’s first-ever NBA Finals game.

Horford led the charge in the fourth quarter and led his teaming in scoring with 26 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the three-point line.

Despite his team-best performance, Horford thanked God in the post-game interview.

“[It was] lot of fun, God put me in this position, I’m very grateful to him,” he said of his first Finals game. “For me it was just to come out here and just enjoy this moment.”

He also gave credit to his teammates: “The group that started the fourth quarter I think did a great job setting the tone, Jaylen attacking, Rob got a lob dunk and that just kind of got us going.”

“From that point on we felt like we’re gonna stay solid, continue to fight and you know that’s what we did,” he added.

NBA veteran center Al Horford recorded a playoff career-high 30 points to help the Boston Celtics defeat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The pivotal win tied up the best of seven series, 2-2, as Horford and the Celtics look to defeat the reigning NBA champions.

Along with Horford’s 30-point outing, the 35-year-old was tasked with defending two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo the entire game.

“We all understood the importance of this game,” Horford, 35, said in the post-game press conference. “And we felt that, at the end of Game 3, we were in a position to win the game and we didn’t. I was just really locked in. I understood the moment, what we needed to do as a group and just come out and then really just did whatever it took tonight.”

Despite his career night against one of the most dominant players in the league, Horford credited his success to God.

“First, I just want to give the honor and glory to the Lord. I’m very grateful for this opportunity that I’ve received and I know it’s come from Him,” Horford said in a post-game interview. “I’m just very happy to back here in Boston.”
