Jessica Simpson Responds To Online Comments: ‘I CAN And ALWAYS WILL Get Through It’

Jessica Simpson responded to fans expressing concern over a recent video of the actress celebrated almost five years of sobriety.
The video, an ad for Pottery Barn, showed Simpson giving a tour of her daughter Birdie’s bedroom. Some viewers were concerned about the singer’s weight and her speech. Simpson soon responded with another video.
“As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise…peoples’ comments and judgments can still hurt deeply,” she captioned a video of herself singing. “The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it.”
She continued, “I feel compassion for the opinionated hate that some people can so effortlessly just blurt out with such intensity on social media or in the media in general. We all have our days of wanting to be, look, do, and feel better. Nobody is alone with that feelin’ that I can promise you.”

Singer and actress Jessica Simpson recently opened up about her journey to sobriety in a transparent post on Instagram.
The “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer posted a picture of herself date 2017 and reflected on how much has changed in her life over the past four years.
“This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself,” she wrote in the post’s caption. “I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.”
Now, Simpson is candid about her alcohol addiction and the negative effect it had on raising her three children.
“Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted,” she said. “I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor. I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward- never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.”
“I can’t believe it has been 4yrs! It feels like maybe 2. I think that is a good thing. Ha. There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic,” she added. “The real work that needed to be done in my life was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage. The drinking wasn’t the issue. I was.”
Simpson said that she has overcome her fears and turned away from alcohol.
“I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power. Today I do. I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage. I am wildly honest and comfortably open. I am free,” she said.
