Katy Nichole Shares Testimony: ‘Even If I Can’t, I Know My God Can’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Christian singer Katy Nichole is sharing her testimony in a new Instagram video.

“Don’t tell me my God can’t change a life,” she wrote in a video that features clips from her life.

Nichole started, “After complications from back surgery in 2015, I came to a place where I wanted to end my life. But God spoke over me ‘Hold on, I’m not done yet.’ So I held on, but it was going to take a miracle to keep me alive.”

In 2018, the singer said her “miracle came” after a second back surgery “that brought healing to the pain I felt not just physically but my heart had also been changed.”

“He took me from here to HERE,” Nichole wrote, first showing a picture of herself in the hospital followed by a clip of her performing. “He brought me from darkness back into the light. He took my dead heart and brought it back to life. There is NOTHING MY GOD CAN’T DO.”

She concluded, “EVEN IF I CAN’T I KNOW MY GOD CAN.”

The singer also shared how God rescued her from a dark time in her life.

“I mean it when I say Jesus changed my life. I’ve had two back surgeries, and the first one didn’t do exactly what it was supposed to do, but the second one was where the miracle happened. I was very depressed after the first, so depressed that I hit a place where I wanted to end my life. Thankfully, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Hold on, I’m not done yet.’ And I believed that voice. If I hadn’t believed that voice, I would not be standing here right now,” Nichole said with conviction.

Nichole previously elaborated on her near-death experience. She had taken a bottle of pills in her hand, intending to overdose, but the bottle dropped when she heard God’s voice.

“I just felt the Lord say, ‘I’m not done yet,’” she said.

The video was soundtracked by Nichole’s latest single, “My God Can,” which features Naomi Raine.

“I hope this song gives you the confidence to trust fully in God as you walk into 2024! Let this be YOUR anthem,” Nichole said via The Christian Beat. “I’m standing in the confidence that even though I can’t, MY GOD CAN!”

In a video for K-Love Radio, Nichole shared the inspiration behind the song.

“It’s based on the verse Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,’” she explained. “I want to remind you today that even when you don’t feel strong, God is strong. His strength never fails. There is nothing impossible with God. He will go before you and exceed every expectation that you’ve ever had. I want to remind you that, even when you can’t do something, God can.”
