Meanwhile, Kate is frustrated by her minimal weight loss despite her best efforts while her boyfriend, Toby, keeps losing weight even though he decided to abandon his diet. Finally, while eating some marijuana brownies to ease his physical pain, William accidentally reveals to Randall’s wife, Beth, he has known Randall’s adopted mother, Rebecca, since Randall was a baby.

“The Best Washing Machine in the Whole World” addresses the issues that can occur when a family adopts a child. The episode beautifully highlights the challenge that parents face when they strive to love their children equally even as they work to encourage every child to use their different talents. The series continues to be deeply cathartic and engaging in the seventh episode, but caution is advised due to foul language and a scene showing marijuana use.
