More Detail:

“The Game Plan” is the fifth episode of NBC’s series of THIS IS US and Jack and Rebecca are shown pre-children watching a Super Bowl game where Jack confronts Rebecca about her reluctance to have children. Rebecca is angry at first, but eventually acknowledges she’s fearful that children will adversely change her relationship with Jack. Cut to the future. Randall and Beth get away for an adult evening together only for Beth to announce she might be pregnant. They too struggle and work through the implications of a pregnancy. Kevin runs lines with his nieces and ends having a deep discussion with them about his views regarding death. After reacting strangely when Toby asks to watch a Steelers game with her, Kate reveals why football is personal to her, and it’s revealed that Jack has actually died.

“The Game Plan” depicts the challenges that children can have on a marriage but does an excellent job of exhibiting how couples can work through these challenges together. However, Kevin’s discussion of his views about death are New Age in nature and thus contradict Biblical Christianity. Consequently, this episode has more of a mixed worldview. Also, it contains some sexual references, foul language and allusions to drug abuse. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution for “The Game Plan” episode of THIS IS US.
