More Detail:

In “Three Sentences,” the 10-year-old triplets ask for their own separate birthday parties. Kate’s friend, Sophie, comes to Kate’s party but shows interest in Kevin, and Kevin reciprocates. In the future, Kate decides to try going to a weight loss camp instead of having surgery. While there, she meets a camp worker who ignores her engaged status and tries to proposition her. Randall tries to bid for a project at work, but his biological father, William, interrupts him by appearing and asking to spend the afternoon together. After Kevin’s fall-out with Sloane and Olivia, he and Toby go to a bar where Toby encourages Kevin to pursue the woman he really loves, his ex-wife, Sophie.

“Three Sentences” focuses on priorities. Kate has to prioritize how and why she will lose weight. While initially hesitant, Randall prioritizes making William’s dream a reality instead of working on his bid at work. Kevin is confronted with needing to invest relationally in the woman he cares for most. The episode addresses all these issues in an appealing manner while stressing positive moral values such as kindness and gratefulness. Caution is advised due to brief foul language and light sexual references.
