More Detail:

In “The Big Day,” Rebecca wrestles with the emotional challenges of being pregnant and initially forgets it’s Jack’s birthday. A year after his wife’s death, Dr. K. is struggling with moving forward. Joe, a fireman, is floundering in his marriage and asks for a miracle. Newborn Randall is dropped at Joe’s firehouse doorstep later that day. Joe’s barren wife turns down the chance to care for the baby, but she’s touched by her husband’s efforts to salvage their marriage. Joe takes the baby to the hospital, where Jack and Rebecca decide to adopt Randall after losing their third baby.

“The Big Day” focuses on persevering in love during life’s hard times. Though Rebecca’s fears and frustrations cause friction between them, Jack persists in loving her despite her shortcomings. Meanwhile, Joe and his wife persevere through their struggles to find a way to salvage their marriage. “The Big Day” has a strong Christian, moral worldview stressing the value of family, marriage, and children. Happily, it contains references to prayer, going to church, truth, and miracles. Also, a man makes a confession to a priest. Caution is advised due to some foul language and sexual reference.
