More Detail:

“The Big Three” is the second episode of NBC’s series of THIS IS US. Rebecca and Jack are shown having marital difficulties due to Jack’s struggle with alcohol. Kate and Toby have grown closer, but Kate continues to struggle with losing weight despite her dieting and exercising. Kevin is informed that he’s contractually obligated to remain on the sitcom for two more years, but he chooses to leave the sitcom anyway to pursue theater in New York. Kevin calls Randall for advice, acknowledging that the strained relationship that has existed between them since childhood is his fault. Meanwhile, Randall and his family continue to get to know his biological father, William.

“The Big Three” continues to endear the show’s characters to the viewer and presents their struggles in an honest, gripping way. It tugs at the viewer’s heartstrings. Struggles with body acceptance, marital unity and familial relationships are relatable and the show’s continuing emphasis on love for and loyalty to family is refreshing. The second episode of THIS IS US, however, continues to have some foul language, lewd content, and references to substance abuse.
