Temporary Trials Can’t Compare to This Promise, Danny Gokey Says

Danny Gokey knows that the troubles we face in this life are only temporary, and he took to Instagram to reminds his fans of that.
“The Bible says that the temporary afflictions that we go through will have an outweighing glory that cannot be compared,” the Christian artist said in an Instagram video.
He explained how Job in the Bible went through some very hard circumstances, but in hindsight, they were only temporary.
“Imagine what Job went through. He’s in heaven now, but Job lost everything. Imagine what he’s looking at now from this perspective. He’d say, ‘Listen, it’s only for a moment, it won’t be long. Keep holding on, God’s gonna give you double for your trouble. This will not last, and the reward that God’s gonna give you will make you forget about all the pain that the past had for you.’” Gokey concluded, “It’s only for a moment.”

Many users responded to the video with gratitude, saying it was exactly what they needed to hear. “I needed that Danny, thank you,” one person commented. Another user added, “I know it’s true what you’re saying, and I thank you, Danny. I needed to hear this today 🙏🏽”
Gokey is no stranger to hardship. The “I Got You” singer’s first wife died unexpectedly in 2008.
“I’ve seen God move in my life,” he said. “I’ve seen God help me pull through significant losses and through different seasons of anxiety and depression and everything that brought me out was always hope. When people lose hope, they lose their reason to live.”

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 encourages us that the trouble we face today is nothing compared to what God has for us in the future. It reads, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
