South Korea-based children’s educational brand Pinkfong is expanding it’s reach.

The company, which owns the “Baby Shark” franchise, is opening a new corporate office in Japan as it brings Baby Shark and other IPs to the region. Gemma Joo, Pinkfong’s chief business officer, will be in charge of the new Japan location.

To build brand recognition with families in Japan, the company will launch a live show titled BABY SHARK LIVE! THE HIDDEN TREASURE on March 27. It already toured through Singapore, Hong Kong, LA, Riyadh and Kuwait, beginning in 2019.

The company’s push in the region has been ongoing since 2022.

“Key market activations have included collaborating with kids café Little Planet to launch a Pinkfong pop-up store, selling licensed Baby Shark merch in more than 14,000 Lawson convenience stores, and launching a MOON SHARK: FROM UNDERWATER PRINCESS TO CELEBRITY comic on the Line Manga webtoon service,” Kidscreen reported.

2025 marks Baby Shark’s 10th anniversary. To celebrate, Pinkfong collaborated with the GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE crew in a special YouTube video.

The video sees Gabby, Pandy and Mercat swimming and singing together with Baby Shark.

“Over the past decade, Baby Shark has grown from a simple song to a global cultural phenomenon that brings joy to families around the world,” said Bin Jeong, chief executive officer for Pinkfong USA, of the milestone. “We’re thrilled to kick off our 10th anniversary celebration with DreamWorks Animation’s GABBY’S DOLLHOUSE, creating magical moments that unite beloved characters and inspire children’s imaginations. We look forward to continuing to deliver fresh, engaging content that connects with audiences across generations.”

Pinkfong’s BEBEFINN earned a +2 content rating from Movieguide®:

BEBEFINN is an animated series on Netflix from the creators of BABY SHARK. It revolves around the adventures and playtime of three children, Baby Finn, Brody and Bora. It’s a vibrant program designed to foster family interaction and learning in pre-school children. Episode 1 of Season Two centers on nursery rhymes. It encourages children to dance to infectious music while learning fundamental concepts like colors, numbers and seasons. It features familiar favorites like “Old MacDonald” and “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes.”

Overall, the content was wholesome and family friendly. Movieguide®’s review continues, “The songs often feature the children spending time with their parents. The program maintains a wholesome tone throughout each song. Thus, Episode 1 of BEBEFINN: Season Two has no disturbing cartoon violence, foul language or other objectionable content. One song, however, does include references to bodily functions.”
