Christian artist Matthew West is using comedy to highlight a very amazing situation and a slightly unfortunate one. In a post to Instagram, West spoke to the audience displaying his injured pinky finger that was stung by a bee.

“Just little update on my end. It’s clear that the artist community is under attack. Forrest Frank breaks his back. Crowder broke his leg, and I hate to let you guys know, but I’m the latest that had suffered an injury. I got stung by a bee on my pinky finger,” he said, adding “I think we have some ring camera footage to kind of show how the attack took place.”

He then shared a comedic video of him running from bees and jumping into a pool, which may or may not have been real (it seems staged).

He then said “I’m going to do what Forrest did, I’m going to turn these lemons into lemonade. Seeing the glass half full and just working up some beats.”

West then sang a comedic rap-style song about bees and how they make honey. After the song, he said, “It’s all how you look at it man. When life stings you like a bee, just remember, bees make honey.”

People enjoyed the comedy and interacted in the comment section. “God gives the biggest battles to His strongest warriors,” one person joked. Another person added, “I feel like this was a missed opportunity for a song called Oh Death where is your STING? 😂” One user said, “This is one of the funniest things ever. 😂😂😂 Hope you feel better soon and release this on Spotify asap!! ❤️”

West’s, erm, injury, is the latest among a slew of Contemporary Christian artistis, relying on their faith during physical setbacks. Thankfully, they continue to encourage one another.

Last week, upon the news of Christian singer David Crowder breaking his leg, Forrest Frank took to Instagram to create a comedic song about the incident.

Crowder then responded with his own comedic song about breaking his leg.

Funniness aside, Forrest Frank recently broke his back but claims he was healed by God. In an Instagram video two weeks ago, he explained, “I broke my back exactly two weeks ago, got an x-ray and a cat scan. It showed that I had multiple fractures, could not move an inch without excruciating pain.”

He continued to explain he woke up without pain, so he went to get an x-ray to check on things. “I have complete healing in my back,” he said, “no sign of a fracture in my back.”

Frank’s story is amazing, and West reminds us that whether God heals or doesn’t, we can always laugh and find comedy in the crazy situations that life brings us.
