Chandler Hallow, from the MrBeast YouTube channel, was in the throes of depression when he heard God speak to him.
“One morning I’m just in my kitchen depressed, walking around and I heard the Lord speak to me audibly…and I hear him say, ‘What are you doing?’ And I froze,” Hallow recalled on Ryan Miller’s podcast. “And I go, ‘What am I doing?’”
He says God’s voice was “piercing” and “clear.” It wasn’t the thundering voice that some might imagine.
“And I just look at myself like…I could see again. Like the Lord literally peeled the scales off of my eyes. I could see myself…I snapped out of it. I threw everything away that day that was drug related, alcohol related,” he shared.
From that day onward, he was changed.

“I don’t know how to describe it,” the YouTube star said. “…I just called my brother, Zach, whose been a big help in my walk… ‘I just threw everything away. What do I do?’”
Zach told him that he and others have been praying for Hallow for months. The realization made Hallow cry.
“Like hearing that somebody else, they were praying for me, you know as I’m crying out to God, like, you know he heard them… And that is why the Lord pulled me out of that.”
Hallow grew up in a Christian home, but he never experienced a relationship with God until that day.
Last year, Hallow shared the joy of his faith with others via social media.
“The joy of the Lord is my strength,” he quoted in one of his videos. “When I read I get joy, because of all that God’s done for me, and it brings me strength. It’s like almost everything else that I was dealing with is gone.”
“God put desires…to follow His will in my heart,” he explained previously. ““God just told me to share my testimony. Hopefully, someone can use that to pull themselves out of the cycle of sin that they are living in and get closer to God.”
This year, he’s been sharing readings from the Book of John with an influencer evangelist who goes by Just Myles.
In another video where he shared his testimony, Hallow encourages those watching with Ezekiel 36:26, which says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” That’s just what happened to Hallow, and he hopes everyone can have the same experience.
