Dr. Jordan Peterson’s daughter is asking for prayers as her dad continues to battle a serious illness.
“Dad’s back home, out of the hospital,” Mikhaila Fuller Peterson posted on X earlier this month. “He’s still not doing well but he’s not doing as badly as he was. Prayers are still much appreciated. Thank you to everyone that’s commented and reached out, it makes a lot of difference. We still don’t know 100% what’s going on, but we have great specialists and we’re waiting, hoping and praying for recovery.”
Fuller Peterson continued, “I’ll see you guys soon, I’m trying to get back to doing more content, and I’ll keep everyone posted when there’s more of a change in health.”

In a video, also posted to X, she said, “We’re still in the midst of this, but now we’re seeing improvements daily.”
“My family is asking for prayers. Like I said, this summer’s been exceedingly difficult and terrifying,” she continued. “Dad’s condition is complicated by the fact he can’t take most medications without suffering from severe paradoxical reactions, which limits treatment options.”
Fuller Peterson added, “Like I mentioned, I believe there’s a spiritual element at play here. I think a lot of people have felt it in the last few weeks and months. It’s been hitting my dad and my family hard this summer.”
In August, she announced her father was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory response syndrome, telling supporters, “He’s really been suffering from this badly since 2017. We just didn’t know what it was called.”
On the same day her father was taken to the hospital, Fuller Peterson’s daughter Audrey was also taken after suffering heart trouble.
“She was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension, which seems to have resolved, praise God. But it’s not something that ‘happens,’” she explained. “[It] went just, really, downhill fast after that. Every single day this summer, and now fall, has been like watching a movie.”
Fuller Peterson updated fans again in October, sharing, “We don’t have a better explanation for his neurological symptoms at the moment other than spiritual attacks.”
“He’s been suffering for the last number of years with unexplainable neuropathy and weakness,” she continued. “After almost a month in the ICU, he’s been moved out to a less urgent floor. Praise God for that.”
Fuller Peterson said the situation has been “heartbreaking and brutal,” but added, “it looks like things are headed in the right direction,” and said the family is “relying heavily on the Lord through this and seeing miracles around us.”
Please keep the Peterson family in your prayers as they continue to navigate this tough time.
