The Seattle Seahawks emerged victorious over the New England Patriots last night in Super Bowl LX.

The game got off to a slow start as Seattle’s kicker Jason Myers secured the first twelve points for the Seahawks through three quarters. At the start of the fourth quarter, quarterback Sam Darnold threw a touchdown pass to AJ Barner.

New England would come back and answer right away as Mack Hollins caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Drake Maye.

Despite the momentum for the Patriots, Maye threw an interception that would lead to Myers kicking another field goal to make history for the most goals in one game.

The Patriots then threw another interception caught by Seahawks’ Uchenna Nwosu and returned for a touchdown.

The Seahawks emerged victorious, securing a final score of 29-13 to provide the team with their second Super Bowl win in franchise history.

Despite the offensive strides made throughout the game, it was Seattle’s defense that led the charge all night. The defense recorded four interceptions and six sacks on Maye.

After the game, Super Bowl MVP and Seattle RB Kenneth Walker said, “First and foremost, I want to thank God for this blessing to be here.”

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald attributed their victory to Christ.

“I believe God called me to be a coach, and I listened to Him, and I thank Him,” he said during the trophy presentation. “We are incredibly blessed to be Seahawks, to be 12s, and now we’re world champions.”

Later on in the post-game press conference, Macdonald spoke about how his faith has impacted his career.

“One of the great things about our team is we grow together and that’s part of my life that’s been a journey,” he shared. “My faith hasn’t always been strong. You have doubts, it’s kind of a roller coaster ride, and over the last few years, it’s been really strengthened. You see what our players do and what [team chaplain] Jonathan Rainey does every day and brings people together. It’s a journey that we’re in together. It’s empowering and it’s inspiring to pursue that part of your life that’s so important.”
