For Drew and Jonathan Scott, their newest show, PROPERTY BROTHERS: UNDER PRESSURE, is their most emotional series yet.
“In their new show, Drew and Jonathan help worried buyers make confident, informed decisions on the biggest purchase of their lives: a home,” a description of the show posted on the Scott brothers’ website reads.
The post continues, “Drew and Jonathan will help guide families through the entire buying process….after the home is purchased, the Bros then help these clients incorporate functional design and explore renovation ideas within budget to help them create a dream home.”

In an interview with PEOPLE, Jonathan opened up about what makes UNDER PRESSURE a bit more emotional than their usual home renovation shows.
“Whether it’s the first couple that lost their home in the LA Fires or generational families that are moving in together so they can afford to get a house — everybody’s got a different story,” he shared, adding that the brothers “intentionally cast lower budgets and more relatable stories” for the show.
He continued, “You’ll see there’s also this real docu-style, kind of behind-the-scenes…We don’t turn the camera off, so you get to see a lot of the stuff that normally would happen after we stopped rolling.”
“The emotions are there,” Drew said. “The frustrations — even Jonathan and me arguing. So you get a lot of everything.”
He explained that UNDER PRESSURE also understands that “this is an emotional process” for the homeowners as well, so he and Jonathan want to “take the emotions off their plate and put it on our own, because we know how to deal with it.”
The brothers spoke further about some of the challenges facing the homeowners featured in an interview with Collider.
“We’re in an unprecedented time when it comes to a housing crisis,” Drew explained. “Even for the affordability of a home nowadays in today’s market and the modern history of homes, there has never been a time like this where it’s not affordable for first-time home buyers or for anybody in general….it’s a puzzle to solve, but that’s why we’re there, to take that stress and help.”
Jonathan shared, “People always ask me, ‘What is your favorite part of the show?’ And I mean, demolition is so much fun. I recommend it for anybody as a stress reliever. But my favorite part is definitely when we give the keys back over, and we know we’ve changed their lives; that’s pretty special.”
PROPERTY BROTHERS: UNDER PRESSURE airs on HGTV every Sunday night and is available the next day to stream on HBO Max and Discovery+.
