Grammy-nominated country artist Anne Wilson shared how she shuts down the thoughts of comparison.

“Making sure that you’re only filling yourself with good things has been like the anthem of these last few months for me. Whether it’s social media, if there’s a moment where comparison pops up in a girl, you’re like, ‘Oh, I want to look like that.’ Like shutting it down and reminding myself, like, to guard my heart and to keep my eyes fixed on who Jesus says I am. That’s been huge for me,” Wilson said on “The Upload Life with Brooke Taylor” podcast.

“I think it’s just important to keep your heart guarded and to remind yourself that you are who God says you are, and not what people think and say about you,” Wilson emphasized. “And honestly, that’s really freeing, too.”

On Wednesday, Wilson celebrated her 24th birthday. She took a moment to reflect on her life and the start of this year in a post on social media.

“The last few weeks have been filled with so many mixed emotions — loss, grief, sadness, joy, life and gratitude woven all throughout,” she wrote. “The start of 2026 has looked nothing like I thought it would, but I’m learning that it’s in the midst of the unknown where I find Jesus the most. In the pain, in the suffering, in the joy — in it all — He is right there.”

She’s been dealing with the grief after a close friend died unexpectedly.

But along with grief, Wilson “started a new tour, took a couple hunting trips, accomplished some New Year’s goals, spent time with family and friends and had so many conversations with God.”

“The older I get, the more I see the beauty in not always knowing or understanding His ways. My word for the year is ‘Be still and know that I am God,’ and wow…I am living in that right now,” she revealed. “I’m learning to trust Him when things don’t make sense. To embrace the hard and still find joy within it. To choose gratitude, no matter what.

“So thankful for a Father who loves deeply and cares so tenderly for His children. He is with you through it all. Wherever you are, that’s where Jesus is,” the country artist concluded.

Through both personal loss and life’s uncertainties, Wilson continues to find strength and freedom in trusting her identity in God and embracing His presence in every moment.
